During the COVID-19 pandemic when the world was turned upside down and so many things came to a screeching halt, God gave me the gift of slowing down. I'll admit that it's easy for me to be a busy body, hustling from one activity to the next, trying to squeeze as much as possible into a given day. I don't think there's anything wrong with being productive—quite the opposite. I believe we were made to work hard, to "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground” (Genesis 1:28, New Living Translation). But if a global pandemic, where I was forced to stay home for months on end, taught me anything, it was to slow down and be more present to myself, others, and God.
After a year or so of working from home due to COVID and having less activity and much more time, God gave me the the following acronym to remind me to breath, reset, and be present with him:
Peace I leave with you (see John 14:27)
Rest in me (see Matthew 11:28)
Enter my presence (see Psalm 16:11)
Still your body (see Pslam 46:10)
Ease your mind (Matthew 11:29-30)
No more fear (see Romans 8:15)
Take heart! I have overcome the world. (see John 16:33)
May you find rest today in the sweet, soul refreshing presence of God. Take heart, for he has overcome the world.
Love this!💕
